military memories

I was just remembering one time in basic. The first time we were issued weapons this onw guy from philly picked up his M16A2, looked down the muzzle and said to teh Drill instructor: "is this the end the bullets come out of?"

Night shift

work 8 hrs night shift tonite. not alot to do. mostly small stuff likr picking up, moving crap around. They better not bitch that i didnt get my weedeating done this weekend.

Im TIRED pt. 2

Well we didnt make it through 40 gallons but we did make a dent. My shoulders feel like a rusty hinge. Such is life.

Im TIRED

between me and the other guy i worked with today we liad down over 5000 feet of painters tape. we have 40 gallons of paint to use up tomorrow. Im going to bed.

GD i hate this time of year at work

Our open house is coming up and we have to do our yearly spit and polish routine on everything. Not normally a problem. The OH was scheduled for June 21st. I get to work on tuesday and its pushed back to the 16th for better attendance (usually on thursday, now saturday). Thank god i work the night before and i have the day off. If they want me to work 24 hrs straight like i did last year thye're providing all the red bull i can drink, cuase im gonn need it to stay awake.

Yard work today

I got about three tons of 3/4 natural rock and 300 yards of weed barrier calling my name. Ah teh joys of summer.

So the pool opens last weekend. Guess who's house the ice cream truck parks in front of? Guess who had a front yard full of wrappers, sticks and other assorted garbage?

To top it all off i sprayed for weeds this morning and ended up inhaling a pretty good sniff of weed killer. Been sick most the rest of the day.

Home for the weekend

Visitied the wife's parents and mine came up for my daughters first birthday party. fun was had by all. My back bumper dragged the whole way home from all the crap they gave her.

I only work a coupel shifts during the week and then the weekend so maybe ill work in my yard.

Well.....

Im still quite cranky over this whole BS deal but the plant superintendent said he would take care of this and it was not handled well at all. He offered to come out and fix it in person but i told him a simple phone call should take care of it. I was told i am not the only guy that will be getting daily work lists, and this BS about putting everything in my personel file will end unless its a major infraction of some kind.

Still pissed this morning

Over that BS at work yesterday. Sent an e mail to the plant superintendent with a CC to the manager that chewed me out and they didnt even respond. This is some great management huh?

Pissed off tonite

Got a major ass chewing i didnt deserve today at work. Busted my ass all weekend (2-12 hr shifts and 8 hr today) to get what i had started done up, and right before i left the plant manager calls me in his office and chews me out for "not doing jack-shit" this afternoon and in the recent past. He says im' "not looking good" on my personel file (whatever the fuck that means), and told me he will have a work list every day and i if i dont finish every day to his spec there will be "serious consequences".

Now i've been pretty pissed off in my time. As a rule im easy going. Im a live and let live kinda guy until you get me riled. Been there twice in my life. well three times now. The last two ended very badly for the person who pissed me off. Im not saying who, what, when or how. We'll see if history repeats itself.

Alone this weekend

I work 12/12 shifts on days again this weekend and the wife and munchkin are going to her parents house for mothers day. So ill be hangin er' solo this weekend. Maybe get in a littel trigger time tonite if the wind goes down. Its blowing steady 20-25MPH right now and rasing lots of dust. Not a big deal if youre just blazing away with an AK but witht he price of 7.62mm ammo, whos bumpin' anymore?

first part failure with my P22

Was out at the range to day and finnaly had a part failure with my P22. I had put about four bricks of CCI blazer through it and it was getting pretty warm. the front sights are made of plastic and just snap in. I ran out of blazer and switched to stingers and withing about five rounds the front sight popped off and nailed me in the forehead. Apprently it got warm enough the plastic base deformed and let it pop out. One part failure about at the 2000+ round mark for the day and 11k+ overall isnt bad.

I called Walther USA customer service and the nice fellow i talked to said while the sights were backordered he'd put me on the list and send me out a set as soon as they were back in, free of charge. I still ahd the #4 factory sight in my box but it shoots about 3" low with that so while its oiperable im gonna hang er' up until i get the right ones back. The CS rep also said its works best ot install them with a small drop of superglue to help hold them in place.

Rough afternoon today

Went over west onto the res to do some mechinic work for a friend of mine and found on his floor dead of a heart attack. The guy was in his 70s and was a WWII and korea vet. I handt been able to get ahold of him for several days and was getting worried. Ive been rattled pretty bad in my day but this one tops em' all.

Nice, quiet weekend

Nothing important to do. Just played lazy. worked around the house on nickel and dime stuff. watched TV, downloaded some tunes. Ah life is good. Especially when i only have to work 2 days next week. The only bummer is i'll miss the season finale of jericho. It looks GOOD.

Overcompensation
